Wasanbon is a delicate and rare sugar, produced with care with the same traditional recipe for more than 200 years in Japan.

This original candy is made from a special type of sugar cane called chikusha, which grows exclusively in Kagawa and Tokushima prefectures, on Shikoku Island. It contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and more.

TOMO wasanbon are shaped with the image of the Seven Lucky Gods:

  • Bishamonten the god of war and victory 
  • Jurojin : the god of longevity
  • Ebisu: the god of business
  • Benzaiten: the god of financial wealth
  • Daikokuten: the god of marriage
  • Fukurokuju: the god of happiness

Great company and excellent wasanbon

Excellent, beautiful product and great company communication. My country does not sell wasanbon. I hope they offer more types and larger boxes of wasanbon in the future.

ミネラルが残るお砂糖「和三盆」

砂糖には多くの種類がありますが、大きく分蜜糖(ぶんみつとう)と含蜜糖(がんみつとう)の2つに分けられます。 私たちがよく口にする上白糖や角砂糖、グラニュー糖など「白砂糖」と呼ばれるものは分蜜糖で(三温糖も分蜜糖)、製造工程の中でショ糖以外の栄養素が取り除かれます。一方の含蜜糖は、原料に含まれる栄養素を残したまま加工されたもので、和三盆と黒砂糖がそれにあたります。

白砂糖は、製造工程の中で余分な栄養素をカットされるので、ミネラル類などの数値が低く、ほとんどがゼロに近いものです。

しかし含蜜糖である和三盆には、白砂糖に含まれないナトリウム、カリウム、カルシウム、マグネシウム、リン、鉄、亜鉛、銅、マンガン、ビタミンB1、ビタミンB2、ビタミンB6、葉酸、パントテン酸などのミネラルが残っているのです。

「和三盆」とは、香川県や徳島県のごく一部の地域でのみ生産されている希少な砂糖です。この和三盆は「竹蔗(ちくしゃ)」という種類の細長いサトウキビから作られます。

和三盆には独特の風味があり、スーッととろける口溶けの良さ、淡白さなど、他の砂糖にはない特質を持っています。200年以上伝統的な製法を守り続けている、最高級のお砂糖です。

このお菓子は供TOMOのオリジナルで、七福神をかたどった【無着色】の和三盆です。七福神それぞれの名前と説明書き(日本語・英語)も添えています。神社、お寺での授与品、お供えとしても好評です。
