TOMO ikebana accessories at the "Fête des Enfants" (Children's Day Party) in Monaco
What is Children's Day?
Children's Day was celebrated on Saturday, May 7, 2022. This traditional day takes place every year in Japan.
It was organized by AMFJ (Association Monaco Friends of Japan), a Monegasque association dedicated to cultural exchanges between Japan and Monaco. The event took place in the Japanese garden of Monaco, built according to the wishes of Princess Grace Kelly.
Monaco children experience the art of Japanese ikebana
The event included a taiko performance and workshops where children could experience Japanese activities such as calligraphy. The event seemed to be a valuable opportunity for children living in and around Monaco to learn about Japanese culture.
The children could take part in an ikebana class with a Japanese teacher, who taught them how to arrange flowers using TOMO ikebana keepers.
Unlike a normal kenzan, these accessories can be handled safely without the risk of cutting fingertips.
Children enjoyed the art of Japanese ikebana and kept good memories of this event.
