The Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day has been organized by the Auckland Chinese Community Centre Inc and celebrated for over 30 years in New Zealand. The event gathered the Chinese community of the country, locals and even ministers. About 20, 000 people came to celebrate.
What is the Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day in New Zealand?
This year, the event to welcome the Year of the Rabbit was held on Saturday, 21 January in Auckland Showgrounds. The entry was free and the participants could enjoy a wide range of events taking place indoor and outdoor. Among the activities held, people could enjoy the Grand Opening by New Zealand’s Prime Minister with a Lion Dance, martial arts, games and more.
During this Chinese New Year Festival & Market Day in Auckland, participants could also experience a variety of Asian food. Among them was TOMO Café Genshin. Café Genshin (or Genshin coffee) was exposed as a Japanese drink.
